women in rush

We found a book in the Pawnee County Historical society,Pawnee,Oklahoma that tells about women that were in the land rush. It said a lot of women staked a claim and it was dangerous to try and get her off. They were serious about having land. Some were single,either by widowed, or whatever reason. It said some men would let a woman get up in the line to sign up due to being a gentleman. There was a line at one time that was just women how long that lasted I don't know I did not write down the name of the book,but I believe it was titled women in the land rush,but am not sure. bluebird
