The Kaw ,also known as the Kansa Tribe,were small in number in 1835.1835 census counted 1,606.
1846, the Kaw signed a treaty with the government giving them reservation land along the Kansas River at Topeka in exchange for small reservation along the upper valley of Neosho River,now Morris County.
1873 Kaw tribe was moved from reservation in Morris county to Oklahoma territory,which put them close to the Arkansas City area. Bluebird
