Nila was born inArkansas City 1891.Her mother had a dance studio.Later she went to New York and became an actress,but got on CBS radio and had a program for children called Let's pretend. She married,but husband died . She stayed in New York and continued with the radio show.Using children for the voices on the show.
Her real name was Nila Mac,but after going to New York added a K,so poeple would not think the Mac was a nick name.She was known as "The Fairy Godmother of Radio"
She died in New York 1953.She never forgot her home town. Bluebird
