The Burford Theater
In 1924, the Highland Hall Block and Isabella Block were razed, and a modern theater was by the Burford Theater Company. The theater was terra-cotta and the floor was terrazzo. The theater seated 790 people. It had a balcony, so when those seats were included there were 1,200 seats. The theater was originally a vaudeville venue and evolved to a movie theater. By 1925, the Burford Theater Company had purchaed all of the other theaters in town.

Very cool! Do you know if the Art Center knows about that? They would probably like to have his name if they don't have it. They are collecting stories of people and their connection to the theater.
