			<title>The Security National Bank Holdup</title>

			<description>The Security National Bank was held up at 3:00 p.m. on May 29, 1924.  $15,000 was stollen and they escaped in a Cadillac.  The police were not in town, because they had recieved a call that a man was beating his wife.  When the police realized this was a lure, two of them mounted their plane loaded with machine guns.  The finally caught at 112 W. Madison Avenue because they had opened their money bundels and through the wrappers in the trash.</description>

			<description>In July 1878, the Cowley County Bank was held up by what was believed to be the James Gang in broad daylight.  They took $1,800 from the bank.  The tellar was Fred Farrar.  No shots were fired.  



At 9:50 a.m., four men rode into town.  Two stopped at Finney's livery and fed their horses.  They did not stable them, because they would soon need them.
